A KID IN A CANDY STORE
Mycousin came from Mexico to live with our family while he attends school. He said life here is so different than his small town. Soon after arriving at our home, he began getting applications for credit cards. He filled out every form and the cards kept coming in. He didn’t realize what he was doing and ended up racking up to many bills that he had no way to pay them off. He thought life was so easy here and didn’t give any thought of how he was going to pay for all the stuff he bought. He acted like a kid in a candy store and he certainly should have known better. He had bills coming in from all over now, plus the bills from school besides. He spoke with a school counselor and they told him he had to get a part-time job to start getting his bills paid. He was much to young to file for bancarrota and he didn’t even file for income taxes here yet. I sure hope he doesn’t get into trouble with the government. I don’t want them coming after me and my family for something we had no control over. The government should control all these places that give out credit cards to everybody.
