We decided to simply apply for all of the assistant programs for diabetes supplies and see which ones stuck. We started with the federal because those had the most promise in getting what we need, and they give us the actually grant money for it so we can buy exactly what we need. It is better than some of the other ones where we have to apply for this and that to get all of the supplies, and if we are denied one, we are in trouble. All I basically had to do was write a letter explaining the situation, how my friend’s dad meets the guidelines for the grant and what exactly we would use it for. I got a lot of practice doing this in my college business courses, so it was pretty easy. When I took them I never thought they would actually come in handy but now I would not have traded it for the world. I am even gladder that I actually paid attention and put in the effort, but a lot of that credit goes toward the teacher because he made the class interesting. My classmate definitely helped as well, we were an entertaining bunch.
